GÜNEŞ TERKOL

Güneş Terkol was born in Ankara in 1981. She earned her undergraduate degree in 2004 from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, her post-graduate degree in 2008 from Yıldız Technical University, Programme of Art and Design. Terkol takes inspiration from her immediate surroundings, collecting materials and stories, which she weaves into her sewing pieces, videos, sketches, and musical compositions. Also a member of HaZaVuZu artist collective and GuGuOu group, Terkol’s recent solo exhibitions include Dreams on the River, Organhause, Chongqing, China (2011); The Holographic Record, NON Gallery, Istanbul, Turkey (2014); Home is my Heart, Krank Art Gallery, Istanbul, Turkey (2017); She Wasn’t There and She Couldn’t Believe Her Ears, Galeri Nev, Ankara, Turkey (2019) and One Twoness, Krank Art Gallery, Istanbul, Turkey (2020).
