CEREN OYKUT

Ceren Oykut was born in Istanbul in 1978. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Painting in 2002. Following her first solo exhibition at Kultur Köln 30, Germany in 2003, she participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and projects both in Turkey and abroad, including many European and Middle Eastern countries. She illustrated books and articles for various publishers. She took part in different art collectives like Hafriyat and Apartment Project and collaborated with artists, both of which she still does. Oykut lives and works in Berlin, Germany since 2017.

Once, Nora had followed a woman in red shoes. She wore a long silky skirt that came down to her ankles, and her shoes were just like those Nora’s sister had worn the last time she saw her: low heeled with a small buckle, so cute they almost looked like children’s shoes.
